Serbia Scholarships 2026-27: All 3 Guides in One Place

Three Serbia scholarships for Pakistani students: World in Serbia and two LAWGID Erasmus Mundus entries, with funding, deadlines and links to each full guide.

Serbia has a small but useful set of scholarships for international students, and the data we track lists three. Two of them are Master's routes through the LAWGID Erasmus Mundus programme in law, gender and diversity. The third, World in Serbia, is a Serbian government initiative that covers study at state universities across all degree levels. If you are a Pakistani student who wants a funded place in Europe, the choice mostly comes down to your level of study and your subject.

Two rows carry the same programme name. They have separate guides and separate pages, so both are linked above and below exactly as they are listed.

World in Serbia: the broad option for Asian students

This is the scholarship with the widest reach. World in Serbia Scholarship is a Government of Serbia initiative that gives free tuition, dormitory accommodation, meals, a monthly allowance and health insurance. It is meant for students from Africa, Asia, and Central/South America, and it applies at Serbian state universities across all degree levels. Pakistan is in Asia, so the eligibility group fits. You can read the full details page for the listing itself.

The catch is timing. The deadline is typically June and varies by year, and applications usually open for about two weeks in June. That is a short window. Students who start gathering papers only when the call appears often miss it, so treat the window as something to prepare for months ahead.

Because it covers every degree level, this is the better pick if you are not a law or social science graduate, or if you want a Bachelor's or a doctorate rather than a Master's.

LAWGID Erasmus Mundus: a two-year Master's across three countries

The other two entries describe a two-year Master's degree in law, gender and diversity. It runs through a partnership between the University of Belgrade, LUMSA University and Γ–rebro University, so you study in Serbia, Italy and Sweden. The programme offers 12 Erasmus Mundus scholarships per intake for international students. Twelve places is a very small number, and that tells you how competitive it will be.

The fully funded listing

The LAWGID Erasmus Mundus Master Scholarship guide covers the version listed as Fully Funded, with a deadline of April 19, 2026. The listing shows Applications Open. See the full details page for this entry.

The Full / Partial listing

The second entry, reached through the Serbia government scholarship guide, describes the same two-year programme but lists its funding as Full / Partial, again with an April 19, 2026 deadline. The full details page has the listing. Because the funding label differs from the first entry, check the official programme website before you assume which level of support applies to you.

Which one suits a Pakistani applicant

My view, based on what the data shows: World in Serbia is the stronger first choice for most Pakistani students. It is fully funded, its eligibility is defined by region rather than by one subject, and it covers every degree level. LAWGID is excellent if, and only if, your academic background is in law, gender studies or a close field, and you are ready for a competitive pool of 12 places.

You do not have to pick one. The LAWGID deadline falls in April and the World in Serbia window is usually in June, so you can prepare one set of core documents and use it for both.

Choosing and preparing your documents

Start with the level you want. If it is a Master's in law, gender and diversity, LAWGID is the match. If you want any other degree level, or a different subject, World in Serbia is the one to plan around.

  1. Read the individual guide for each scholarship and note the official website.
  2. Collect your transcripts, degree certificates, passport and language evidence early.
  3. Write the statement of purpose around your reasons for choosing Serbia and the specific programme.
  4. Leave time for attestation and translation, which are where Pakistani applicants most often lose weeks.

Our documents checklist for international scholarships lists what most committees ask for, and the general scholarships guide for Pakistani students explains how to compare options across countries.
