About the Study in India Government Scholarship Portal
The Study in India programme is a flagship project of the Government of India executed by the Ministry of Education. It is designed to facilitate and encourage international students to study in India's premier higher education institutions, offering a centralized platform to explore over 8,000 courses across more than 600 partner institutes.
Partner institutes provide financial assistance in the form of institute-driven scholarships and fee waivers for meritorious students at the discretion of the individual institute. Tuition fee waivers and scholarships can range from 10% to 100%, depending on the previous academic scores of the student and institute policies.
The higher education network includes institutions with NAAC accreditation of 3.01 and above, top NIRF rankings, Institute of National Importance status, Institute of Eminence status, or QS World Ranking Asia recognition. The medium of instruction across all partner institutes is English.
Non-Resident Indians are eligible to apply for the Study in India programme, but they are not eligible for the Study in India Scholarship. Medical undergraduate programs are not offered through the portal, though paramedical and allied health courses such as pharmacy, nursing, medical laboratory technology, and physiotherapy are available.
