SMU Foundation Scholarships (South Mediterranean University, Tunisia)

The SMU Foundation runs three parallel scholarship tracks for Bachelor's, Engineering, and Master's applicants to MSB or MedTech. The Excellence Scholarship rewards outstanding academic records (a 'Mention Bien' or equivalent at the baccalaureate level, or strong prior transcripts for graduate applicants) with tuition coverage ranging from 25% to 100%, layered with evidence of leadership or extracurricular investment. The Equality Scholarship is aimed at high-potential students who can demonstrate genuine financial need and can, in strong cases, cover up to 100% of tuition.

The Diversity Scholarship is the track most relevant to an international applicant with no prior tie to Tunisia: it explicitly targets candidates from emerging countries applying to MSB or MedTech, and awards up to 30% of tuition fees based on nationality and the university's stated goal of building a pluralistic campus. None of the three tracks require Tunisian citizenship, and because they are administered by the same Foundation with a shared online application form, applicants are generally free to apply to more than one track and let the review committee determine the best fit.

Because this is a private-university scholarship rather than a national government award, there is no fixed annual national deadline or embassy nomination process - applications are tied to SMU's own admissions cycles (typically opening in the preceding autumn/winter for fall intake) and are reviewed on a rolling basis by the SMU Foundation and admissions office. Applicants should treat the scholarship application as a parallel track submitted alongside, or immediately after, their regular SMU admission application.
