University of Leeds International Excellence Scholarships

The scholarship is structured as a tuition fee reduction for the first year of study only. It cannot be applied toward maintenance, accommodation, or other living costs. The award is non-transferable to other courses and cannot be deferred to a later academic year.

Eligibility is restricted to students classified as international for fee purposes who hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible taught Master's course. Applicants must be self-funded or partially funded and demonstrate an excellent academic track record, typically a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent.

Certain programs are excluded from this scholarship, specifically the MBA, which operates its own separate excellence scheme, and all fully-online courses. Applicants must also note that the university has implemented a visa brake for nationals of Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar, and Sudan, which impacts eligibility for those requiring a Student visa.

The scholarship can be combined with the International Regional Scholarship or external funding, provided the total does not exceed 100% of tuition fees. If a student is eligible for multiple University of Leeds scholarships, they may only accept the award with the highest value.
