Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Scholarship

What sets KTMU apart from most other universities in the region is that education is tuition-free at every level for all admitted students, domestic and international alike. On top of this baseline tuition-free structure, the university runs three additional scholarship tracks for eligible students: the Manas Merit Scholarship for high academic achievers, a Financial Aid Scholarship for students demonstrating financial need, and Special Support Scholarships for particular categories of students identified by the university. Graduate students can additionally receive monthly stipends, with reported baseline amounts in the range of 7,200 som for Master's students and 9,600 som for doctoral students, subject to the university's current scholarship announcements.

Because tuition is waived as the university's standard policy rather than as a competitive scholarship award, the practical 'scholarship' decision for most applicants is less about winning a tuition waiver and more about qualifying for the living-stipend and merit/need-based support layered on top. The university keeps living costs additionally low through subsidized on-campus dining, with meals reported at around 80 som per day in campus dining halls.

For Pakistani students, KTMU offers an unusually cost-effective route into Central Asian higher education: the absence of tuition fees removes what is typically the largest expense of studying abroad, leaving primarily living costs, travel, and visa fees to budget for. The university's split Turkish-Kyrgyz governance also means strong institutional and international ties, useful for students who may later want to pursue further study or exchange opportunities in Turkey.
