The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) is an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. It operates within the framework of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan to support international development objectives and attract talent to UK universities.
Since 1960, the CSC has supported over 34,000 individuals. The program focuses on candidates from low and middle income countries, aiming to build a community of scholars and alumni who can address development challenges in their home countries.
Scholarships are offered under six development themes: Science and technology for development, Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, Strengthening resilience and response to crises, Improving population health, health systems and capacity, Strengthening global peace, security and governance, and Access, inclusion and opportunity.
The CSC offers several distinct programs, including Master's Scholarships, Shared Master's Scholarships, and PhD Scholarships for least developed countries and vulnerable states.
