Shihezi University is the most consistently and independently cited example of a university currently admitting English-medium MBBS students without a CSCA requirement. Multiple separate sources agree on this specific university, which is the bar we are using here: more than one independent source, not just one consultancy's own claim about itself.
Universities We Are Not Naming, and Why
Other names come up in circulation, most often Ningxia Medical University and Guizhou Medical University. We are deliberately not presenting either as confirmed CSCA-free, for two different reasons worth being specific about.
- Ningxia Medical University appears in exactly one aggregator-style source claiming it does not require CSCA, with no independent second source backing it up. One unconfirmed claim is not something we are willing to publish as fact when a family might make a real decision based on it.
- Guizhou Medical University is actively disputed. Some consultant blogs list it as CSCA-free, while a university program page we found states CSCA is a required part of admission there. When sources directly contradict each other about the same university, the honest answer is "unclear," not a pick between them.
Some sources also name Zhejiang Chinese Medical University as CSCA-free, but that school teaches Traditional Chinese Medicine, not the standard MBBS/Clinical Medicine track most Pakistani applicants are actually asking about, so its relevance here is limited regardless of its CSCA status.
Is "No CSCA Yet" a Red Flag?
No, and this is worth separating clearly from a different question. Whether a university currently requires CSCA is a timing artifact of a rolling policy adoption, not a signal about the university's legitimacy or accreditation. The actual legitimacy marker is MOE-listed status and PMDC recognition, which you should check independently of CSCA either way. A university skipping CSCA this cycle is not thereby a weaker or riskier choice; a university outside the MOE framework entirely is a real concern, and that is a completely separate question from CSCA.
Why Consultant Lists on This Topic Are Unreliable Right Now
During research for this article, we found consultancy blogs that state in one article that CSCA is "not a requirement for most MBBS" programs, and in another article from the same site that it is "mandatory... for all MOE-listed institutions," a direct contradiction inside one company's own published content.
