Lithuanian State Scholarship for Master's Studies

The scholarship is designed to attract talented international students to Lithuania's growing base of English-taught Master's programmes, which span engineering, business, IT, and the sciences at institutions such as Vilnius University, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), and Vytautas Magnus University.

Financial support is calculated as a multiple of Lithuania's Basic Social Amount and adjusts each year in line with that figure; recipients also receive a tuition fee grant covering the cost of studies at the host institution, so the scholarship functions as a full-cost package rather than a partial subsidy.

The number of scholarships awarded per eligible country is limited each year — recent cycles have allocated up to around ten grants per country, with a portion reserved for applicants of Lithuanian heritage from outside the EU/EFTA — so competition within each country's quota can be significant.

Because the eligible-country list rotates and is not universal, applicants must check the specific year's roster (published by the Education Exchanges Support Foundation and Study in Lithuania) before applying, as it typically favours a mix of Eastern European, Central Asian, and East/Southeast Asian partner countries alongside occasional additions elsewhere.
