The Friedrich Ebert Foundation provides financial and material support to talented and socially engaged young people in training, undergraduate studies, postgraduate studies, and doctoral programs. As one of 13 gifted student funding organizations in Germany, the foundation aims to promote fair access to education and democratic values.
The programs welcome applications from individuals who are the first in their families to attend university or who have a migration background. Eligible candidates must identify with the core values of social democracy, demonstrate a commitment to voluntary social engagement, and possess strong academic grades.
Alongside financial assistance, recipients benefit from a comprehensive political education program designed to foster networking and political awareness. The foundation also maintains an extensive alumni network and specific funds such as the Solidarity Fund for persecuted international students.
The foundation is headquartered at Godesberger Allee 149, 53175 Bonn, and can be contacted via phone at +49 228 883-7902 or by email at stipendien@fes.de for any inquiries regarding the application process.
