About the University of Calgary International Scholarships

๐Ÿ• 3 min read

The University of Calgary offers a wide array of scholarships, awards, and bursaries designed to help students finance their education, reduce student loan burdens, and recognize academic excellence. Administered through the Office of the Registrar, these financial opportunities span entering high school students, transfer students, continuing undergraduate students, Juris Doctor students, Doctor of Medicine students, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students, and graduate students.

2

For entering high school applicants, awards include High School Prestige Awards and High School Entrance Awards, such as the President's Admission Scholarship which requires a final admission average of 95.00 percent or higher. High school applicants gain access to award applications within 24 hours after submitting their admission application.

3

Continuing undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate bachelor's degree program at the University of Calgary, having completed a minimum of 9.00 academic units in each of the most recent Fall and Winter terms with a minimum GPA of 2.00. Continuing award selections begin in late June.

4

Alberta Student Aid awards are also available to eligible students who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, and Alberta residents. These include the Jason Lang Scholarship, Louise McKinney Scholarship, Indigenous Careers Awards, Dr. Gary McPherson Leadership Scholarship, Laurence Decore Awards for Student Leadership, and the Lois Hole Humanities and Social Sciences Scholarship.

5

Students apply for awards directly through the My Financials section of the Student Centre by submitting available award applications. Award payments are typically split equally between the Fall and Winter terms and are disbursed via direct deposit or applied directly to student accounts.
