Asian University for Women (AUW) Scholarship

The scholarship is fundamentally need-based rather than purely merit-based. Applicants complete a detailed Self-Assessment Form (with a specific international-applicant version) along with supporting financial documentation — bank statements, tax records, salary certificates, and third-party verification where required — which the university's Financial Aid Committee uses to assess household income, family composition, parental education and employment, and broader socio-economic circumstances. Based on this assessment, students receive either a full or partial scholarship package before their academic program begins.

A full scholarship at AUW covers tuition, room and board, course supplies, student activity fees, and primary healthcare, with limited travel support covering a one-way ticket to Chittagong and a return ticket home upon graduation. This is a notably comprehensive package relative to most partial-tuition scholarship schemes elsewhere in the region, since it addresses nearly every major cost category a student would otherwise face studying away from home.

For Pakistani women specifically, AUW represents one of the very few dedicated, women-only, need-based scholarship pathways into a full undergraduate liberal arts education in South Asia, with an established multi-decade track record of enrolling Pakistani students. Applicants should be aware that eligibility is restricted to female students, that transfer students are not eligible for financial aid, and that maintaining the scholarship requires sustaining a minimum 2.5 CGPA throughout the program.
