YU's 6-year MBBS programme dedicates Year 1 to Chinese language study with HSK Level 4 required by the end of the first academic year to progress into the Clinical Medicine curriculum. Students who do not pass HSK-4 within Year 1 may need to continue language study or make alternative arrangements. Clinical training is anchored at 3 Grade III Class A affiliated hospitals (the highest hospital classification in China) with 6 affiliated hospitals total providing 8,000+ combined beds across Jingzhou and Wuhan. The student-to-faculty ratio during clinical rotations is 1:5, providing personalised guidance. YU has produced international MBBS graduates since 2010 and houses an Infectious Disease Research Centre alongside the Clinical Medicine programme.

Jingzhou is a prefecture-level city in southern Hubei, situated on the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It is one of China's famous historic and cultural cities with over 2,800 years of history. The climate is humid subtropical with warm summers (averaging 28ยฐC in July) and mild winters. Jingzhou offers international students a safe, affordable and culturally rich environment.

A Muslim canteen is also available inside the campus. The Wuhan campus is accessible for additional clinical exposure and city amenities. Important Admission Requirements

๐Ÿ“Step 1

MOE Listed vs Non-MOE: What it Means for You

Yangtze University is not on China's MOE list for English-medium MBBS programmes. The programme is English-medium (Year 1: Chinese language foundation) with HSK-4 required by the end of Year 1. The programme is approved by WHO, ECFMG and PMDC. Confirm current PMDC/PMC NOC status with Titans Abroad before applying.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธStep 2

Language Requirement: HSK-4 by End of Year 1

YU's 6-year MBBS follows an English-medium model. Students spend the first year studying Chinese before entering the Clinical Medicine curriculum in Year 2. HSK Level 4 must be passed by the end of the first academic year to progress into the medical programme. Students who do not pass HSK-4 within Year 1 may need to continue the language programme or make alternative arrangements. Beginning Chinese language preparation 3-6 months before arrival is strongly recommended.

๐Ÿ’ณStep 3

Pakistan, India and Bangladesh Recognition

YU is PMDC approved - Pakistani graduates are eligible to sit the NRE/NLE licensing examination. Indian applicants should note that non-MOE Chinese medical universities generally do not meet current NMC (India) criteria for FMGE/NExT eligibility under the 2021 NMC Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate regulations; verify the latest NMC requirements directly with the National Medical Commission before applying. Bangladeshi applicants should note that non-MOE Chinese programmes are not commonly included on BMDC's recognised foreign institutions list; verify the current BMDC list directly before applying. Always verify current council policy before applying.
