MBBS in Georgia for Pakistani students fees start at about $2,750 per year in tuition at the lower-priced private universities and go up to $8,000 per year at Tbilisi State Medical University, according to the fee tables on our university pages. Once you add hostel, insurance, residence permit and first-year charges, the 6-year bill for most PM&DC-listed options lands between roughly $31,000 and $68,000 before food and flights. This guide shows how to build the real number for your family.
All dollar figures below come from the fee tables on our Georgia university pages, which our team maintains. Universities change fees and sometimes add charges, so treat every figure as an estimate and get the current fee sheet in writing before you pay anything.
How much does MBBS in Georgia cost for Pakistani students?
Think of the cost in four layers: tuition, hostel, one-time and yearly admin charges, and daily living. Most advertised "fees" show only the first layer. That is why families are surprised later.
- Tuition: $2,750 to $8,000 per year across the PM&DC-listed MBBS options on our pages.
- Hostel: about $1,800 to $2,400 per year in the tables (estimated on 12 months).
- Admin charges: roughly $1,200 to $1,600 in Year 1 (registration, airport pickup, insurance, residence card, medical, liaison) and about $600 to $700 in each later year (insurance and residence card renewal).
- Living: our Tbilisi budget guide puts most South Asian students at $300 to $450 per month for food, transport and personal costs.
Most Georgian MBBS programmes run six years, so every yearly figure needs to be multiplied by six, not four or five.
University-wise MBBS fees in Georgia (tuition, hostel and admin)
The table below uses the fee tables on our university pages for universities marked PM&DC-approved there. "Year 1" includes the one-time charges. "Later years" covers Years 2 to 6.
| University | Tuition per year | Hostel per year | Year 1 total | Later years, each | 6-year total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alte University (Tbilisi) | $2,750 | $1,800 | $6,000 | $5,150 | about $31,750 |
| SEU, Georgian National University | $2,750 | $1,800 | $6,000 | $5,150 | about $31,750 |
| European University Georgia | $2,950 | $1,800 | $6,200 | $5,350 | about $32,950 |
| International Black Sea University | $4,500 | $1,800 | $7,750 | $6,900 | about $42,250 |
| University of Georgia | $6,000 | $2,000 | $9,500 | $8,600 | about $52,500 |
| Tbilisi State Medical University | $8,000 | $2,400 | $12,000 | $11,100 | about $67,500 |
Two more entries need a warning. Our page for Kutaisi International University shows a much lower package of about $24,700 over six years, but when I checked the university's own admissions pages I could not find a medicine fee, and the fee I did find for a similar-named school (Kutaisi University) is quoted at 4,000 GEL a year. Confirm which institution you are dealing with, and what it will charge, before you count on a "cheapest" price. Also, Ilia State University offers a graduate-entry MD for people who already hold a biomedical bachelor's degree. It is not the same as the 6-year MBBS route and is not in the table.
For a second reference point, Tbilisi Medical Academy publishes its English MD fee on its site: $7,000 per academic year, plus a $300 registration fee and a $2,100 reservation payment. That is a good example of how a university's own page can differ from an aggregator's number, and why you should read the source.
What is the cheapest MBBS in Georgia?
On our fee tables, the lowest verified tuition among PM&DC-listed 6-year MBBS options is $2,750 per year, at Alte University and SEU. European University Georgia is close behind at $2,950. These three keep the 6-year total near $32,000 to $33,000 before living costs.
Cheap tuition is not the same as a good decision. Before choosing on price, compare these things:
- Is the university on the current PM&DC recognition list, and is the programme the one that was recognised?
- How many patients and which hospitals do students train in, and how far is the hospital from your hostel?
- Is the fee fixed for six years, or can it rise each year?
- What is refundable if your visa is refused?
Real total cost: a worksheet for your family
Use this list when a consultant or university quotes you a price. If a line is missing from the quote, ask why.
- Tuition for all six years.
- Hostel for all six years (or rent, if you plan to live in a shared flat).
- Registration or admission charge in Year 1.
- Health insurance each year.
- Residence permit fee at the start and renewals.
- Visa fee, passport, police certificate and document attestation in Pakistan.
- Flights for the first trip and one trip home each year.
- Monthly living costs for 12 months a year.
- A buffer for repeat exams, books and emergencies.
Here is how the first six lines and the living line combine for a student who spends $300 to $400 per month on food, transport and personal costs. This adds $3,600 to $4,800 per year, or $21,600 to $28,800 over six years, to the table totals. Flights and document costs in Pakistan are extra.
| University | Table total (6 years) | Plus living ($300 to $400 per month) |
|---|---|---|
| Alte University or SEU | $31,750 | $53,350 to $60,550 |
| European University Georgia | $32,950 | $54,550 to $61,750 |
| International Black Sea University | $42,250 | $63,850 to $71,050 |
| University of Georgia | $52,500 | $74,100 to $81,300 |
| Tbilisi State Medical University | $67,500 | $89,100 to $96,300 |
Our Tbilisi budget numbers are on the cost of living in Tbilisi guide. A shared flat is the cheapest option, and many students move out of the hostel after the first year. Do not count on that saving in your first-year plan.
MBBS in Georgia cost in PKR
Every Georgian university sets its fee in dollars or lari, so your cost in rupees depends on the exchange rate on the day you pay. Check the State Bank of Pakistan or your bank's rate before every instalment. As an example only, if a dollar costs Rs 280, a $31,750 table total comes to about Rs 8.9 million and $67,500 comes to about Rs 18.9 million, before living costs.
The rate can move over six years, and so can the fee. Ask your family to plan for a 10 to 15 percent cushion on top of the total. This is our practical suggestion, not an official figure.
How is tuition paid, and can fees be paid in instalments?
Most universities collect a reservation or admission payment after the offer letter, then charge tuition in set payments through the year. Tbilisi Medical Academy, for example, lists a reservation payment on its page but says detailed payment schedules come from its admissions office. Instalment terms differ by university, so ask for them in writing.
Some rules protect your money:
- Pay only to the university's official bank account in the university's name, never to an individual's account.
- Get a receipt that names the student, the amount and the purpose.
- Ask for the refund policy if the visa is refused or if you withdraw.
- Do not accept a "fixed fee for six years" promise unless it is written in the contract.
Is MBBS in Georgia cheaper than China?
Sometimes, but not always. On our MBBS in China pages, the annual tuition listed for MBBS programmes runs from about $2,650 to $12,200, with a middle value around $4,000. Georgian tuition on our pages sits in a similar band, $2,750 to $8,000. So tuition alone does not decide it.
What changes the answer:
- China has many universities, so you can often find a lower tuition than most Georgian options, especially in smaller cities.
- Georgian totals are easier to predict because hostel and admin charges are usually written in one table, but you still must add living costs.
- Programme length and internship rules differ, so compare the full years of study and what each degree needs for recognition.
- Scholarships exist in China (for example, the Chinese Government Scholarship) but are not typical in Georgia.

Are Georgian universities recognised by PM&DC?
Some are. PM&DC recognition is decided per university and can change, so a university's claim on its own website or a consultant's brochure is not enough. Check the current list on pmdc.pk and look the school up in the World Directory of Medical Schools at search.wdoms.org. Our pages mark universities as PM&DC-approved based on our team's checks, and we cover them in PMDC-approved universities in Georgia.
Recognition of the university is only the first step. To practise in Pakistan, a foreign graduate must also pass the PM&DC registration exam for foreign medical graduates. Pass rates have been low in recent sittings: PM&DC's December 2025 Step-I results, as reported by APP, showed about 21 percent of medical candidates qualifying. Choose a university where you will actually learn clinical medicine, not just pass internal exams. Read the PM&DC registration process before you commit.
One update from this month: PM&DC announced on 5 October 2026 that students going abroad for medical or dental degrees no longer need to pass MDCAT first, as ProPakistani reported. Earlier rules had said otherwise, so confirm the current notice on pmdc.pk before you file your application.
Is IELTS needed for MBBS in Georgia?
On our university pages, the PM&DC-listed universities in the table above do not ask for IELTS. Entry usually rests on FSc Pre-Medical marks (60 percent in most listings, 50 percent at one) and an English interview or online test. Requirements differ by university and year, so ask each university what it needs from you. Our complete guide to MBBS in Georgia has the admission steps.
How do I get the Georgian student visa?
You will often see this called the "D5 visa" on agency pages. Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes the study visa as category D3, and a D5 document on the same site covers property owners instead. Use D3 when you search for the official rules. The published D3 study visa sheet sets out the documents, and you apply through the official e-visa portal.
Plan on these steps:
- Get the offer or admission letter from the university.
- Pay the reservation fee to the official account.
- Prepare your passport, photos, bank statement, accommodation proof and insurance.
- Apply for the D3 study visa online and keep the receipt.
- After arrival, apply for a residence permit through the Public Service Development Agency.
Residence permit fees depend on how fast you want the decision, and the amounts on university pages did not match when I compared them. Georgia has also been discussing tighter rules for foreign students, so check the current law. Our step-by-step student visa guide covers the process, and our proof of funds guide explains what bank statements families usually need.
What is the monthly living cost in Tbilisi?
Our Tbilisi guide gives $250 to $390 per month for a tight shared-flat budget, $425 to $630 for a mid-range one, and $685 to $1,135 for a private apartment with more comfort. Most South Asian MBBS students spend $300 to $450. Outside Tbilisi, costs are usually lower.
Third-party sites quote higher rents for central one-bedroom flats, around $500 to $700, so a private flat will cost far more than a shared room. Do not plan your budget on the lowest number.
Where do Titans Abroad fit in?
Titans Abroad does not charge a consultation fee, and we only recommend PM&DC-approved universities. We can help you compare the fee sheets above, shortlist universities and prepare documents for the visa. If a programme is not right for your marks or budget, we will say so. You can start on the apply now page, and fee questions are best raised before you pay any deposit.
Whoever you work with, ask for the university's own fee sheet and the payment account in writing. Our guide on spotting a fake study-abroad consultant lists the warning signs.
Is Georgia safe for Pakistani girls?
Many families send daughters to Tbilisi and other Georgian cities, and students generally report that central areas are manageable at normal precautions. That is not a guarantee. Safety depends on where you live, how you travel at night and whether your hostel has clear rules. We cover this properly in the safety guide for parents. Visit the hostel through a video call before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
How much does MBBS in Georgia cost for Pakistani students?
On our university pages, tuition runs from $2,750 to $8,000 per year. With hostel, insurance and admin charges the 6-year total is about $31,750 to $67,500. Living costs of roughly $300 to $400 per month come on top. Flights and document costs in Pakistan are also extra, and every figure should be confirmed with the university.
Is MBBS in Georgia cheaper than China?
It depends on the university. Our China pages list MBBS tuition from about $2,650 to $12,200 per year, and Georgia sits at $2,750 to $8,000. China often has cheaper options in smaller cities, while Georgia may have simpler fee tables. Compare total six-year cost, not tuition alone, and include living costs.
Is IELTS needed for MBBS in Georgia?
Not at the PM&DC-listed universities on our pages, which accept FSc Pre-Medical marks and an English interview or test instead. Rules vary by university and can change between intakes. Ask the admissions office for the written requirement for your intake before you spend money on an IELTS booking.
Are Georgian universities recognised by PM&DC?
Some are, and recognition is checked per university. Look up the university on pmdc.pk and in the World Directory of Medical Schools at search.wdoms.org. After graduation you must also pass the PM&DC registration exam for foreign graduates to practise in Pakistan, so recognition alone does not guarantee a licence.
What is the monthly living cost in Tbilisi?
Our Tbilisi guide shows $250 to $390 per month on a shared-flat budget and $425 to $630 for a mid-range one. Most South Asian MBBS students spend $300 to $450. Rent is the biggest item, and a private apartment can cost several times as much as a shared room.
Can fees be paid in instalments?
Often, but the terms vary. Many universities ask for a reservation payment after the offer letter and then split tuition across the year. For example, Tbilisi Medical Academy says its admissions office gives the payment schedule. Ask for instalment dates, penalties and refund rules in writing, and pay only to the university's own bank account.
How do I get the D5 visa for Georgia?
The official study visa is called D3, not D5. D5 is for property owners. Get your admission letter, prepare passport, funds, accommodation and insurance documents, and apply on Georgia's official visa portal. After you arrive, apply for a residence permit through the Public Service Development Agency.
Is Georgia safe for Pakistani girls?
Many Pakistani families send daughters to study in Georgia, and the main student areas of Tbilisi are commonly described as comfortable with normal precautions. Safety still depends on your hostel, your routine and travel habits. Check the hostel rules, ask current students from Pakistan, and read our parents' safety guide before deciding.
If you want one number to plan around, add the table total for your shortlisted university to $21,600 to $28,800 for six years of living costs, then add flights and a cushion. That is the honest MBBS in Georgia for Pakistani students fees picture, and it is the figure to compare with other countries on our MBBS in Georgia hub.
