The EUI Scholarship is listed under Nuffic, the Dutch organization for internationalization in education. Nuffic works across primary and higher education through to research, so a scholarship carrying its name points toward the Dutch academic system. That much is clear. Most of the rest is not, and this guide is honest about that from the first paragraph.

When we last checked the official listing (verified in May 2026), the Nuffic page for the EUI Scholarship returned a 404 Not Found error. That means the program's coverage, eligibility rules, study levels and deadlines could not be confirmed from the official source. You can see what we do have on the full scholarship details page, but treat everything below as a starting point for your own checking, not a final answer.

Why a broken official link changes how you should approach this

A 404 error means the page has been moved or removed. It does not tell you whether the scholarship itself still runs. Programs get renamed, merged into other schemes, moved to a partner website, or closed. From the outside, all four look the same: a dead link.

For a Pakistani student, this matters more than it might seem. Scholarship seasons overlap with IELTS bookings, document attestation and university applications, and every week spent chasing a program that may not exist is a week taken from one that does. So the first job here is simple: find out whether there is a live call for applications. Until you have that, do not build your plans around it.

What the funding might cover, and why nobody can tell you yet

The listing describes the funding as full or partial. That is a wide range. A full award could mean very different things from a partial one, and without the official terms there is no way to say which applies to whom, or what costs are included. Coverage is marked as varying, to be confirmed on the official site.

Be careful with any website, agent or social media post that gives you a precise amount for this scholarship. If the figure cannot be traced back to a current Nuffic page or another official source linked from it, do not rely on it. Plan your budget as though the award might be partial until you see written terms saying otherwise. Our guide to bank statements and proof of funds can help you think through what you would need to show if the scholarship does not cover everything.

Eligibility for Pakistani applicants is unconfirmed

Eligibility requirements for the EUI Scholarship vary and have to be confirmed on the official site. Nothing available says the program is open to Pakistani nationals, to all nationalities, or to any group that clearly includes Pakistan. Please check eligibility for your nationality directly with Nuffic before you spend time on an application.

The same goes for study level and field. The listing does not say whether the scholarship is for bachelor's, master's, doctoral or research candidates, or whether it is limited to certain subjects. Ask about each of these specifically when you contact Nuffic.

Preparing documents before the details are known

The required documents also vary and need to be confirmed on the official site. You cannot finish a document pack for a scholarship whose requirements are not published. You can, however, get the basics in order, because almost every international application asks for some version of them: a valid passport, academic transcripts and degrees, and attested copies where needed.

Document attestation often takes longer than students expect, so starting early is sensible whatever scholarship you end up applying to. See our IBCC and MOFA attestation guide for the process. Just do not pay for translations, courier fees or test bookings tied specifically to the EUI Scholarship until you have confirmed it is open and you are eligible.

How to track down the current version of this scholarship

With the official page unavailable, the application route is really a search route. Here is a sensible order:

  1. Try the official EUI Scholarship link on Nuffic first. Pages sometimes come back, or redirect to a new address.
  2. If it still fails, go to the main Nuffic website and use its search function to look for the EUI Scholarship by name.
  3. If search turns up nothing, contact Nuffic through its official contact channels and ask directly whether the scholarship is running for the current cycle.
  4. When you write to them, ask four things in one message: is it open, who is eligible (including Pakistani nationals), what it covers, and what the deadline is.
  5. Once you have a live official page, follow the application instructions there exactly, and save a copy of the page for your records.

Timing: there is no fixed date to plan around

Both the opening date and the deadline vary and must be confirmed on the official portal. There is no typical month you can safely count on. If you find a live page, write the deadline down along with the time zone, and aim to submit well before it. If you do not find one, assume the program is not accepting applications for now.

Who should spend time on this, and who should move on

This scholarship is worth a few hours of checking if you are set on the Netherlands and want to cover every Dutch option. Writing one clear email to Nuffic costs very little. It is a poor choice to treat as your main plan. With no confirmed eligibility, coverage or deadline, it should sit at the bottom of your list, behind programs whose terms you can actually read today.

The most common mistake with listings like this is filling the gaps with guesses. Students see "full / partial", assume full, and plan around money that may not exist. Another mistake is trusting third-party pages that copy old information without dates. Use the official source, keep proof of what it says, and run several applications in parallel. Browse all Netherlands scholarships to find options with confirmed details to apply to alongside this one.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the official EUI Scholarship page show a 404 error?

The page on the Nuffic website returned a Page Not Found error, which means it has been moved or removed. That does not by itself mean the scholarship has ended. Search the Nuffic site or contact Nuffic to find out its current status.

Who provides the EUI Scholarship?

Can Pakistani students apply?

This has not been confirmed. Eligibility varies and should be checked on the official site. Ask Nuffic directly whether Pakistani nationals can apply before you prepare anything.

Is it fully funded?

The funding is listed as full or partial, and coverage varies. Until you see the official terms, plan your finances as if the award might not cover all your costs.
